About the Bass Lake P.O.A
The Bass Lake Property Owners Association (BLPOA) is a not-for-profit volunteer-based association. The BLPOA was formed in November 2018 and its initial mandate was to develop and implement a water level management plan that assists in the protection and well-being of the natural environment of Bass Lake and enhances the quality of life on the lake for both seasonal and permanent residents. The Association is registered as an incorporated not-for-profit corporation in the province of Ontario. Its Ontario Corporation Number is: 5005708 and its Letters of Patent were issued on 17 January 2019. During its first four years of operation, our Association has fortunately averaged 180 or 77% of Bass Lake properties registered as association members.
GOALS
1. Work with the Township of Rideau Lakes on a municipal project to establish an effective lake water level management plan for Bass Lake under the leadership of the Township, this includes supporting the work of the Rideau Valley Conservation Authority and Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources & Forestry;
2. Work with and assist the Ministries of the Environment, Natural Resources and Health, the Rideau Valley Conservation Authority, and other governmental agencies in carrying out their responsibilities to preserve and enhance the natural environment and improve the water quality of Bass Lake;
3. Support the preservation of our provincially protected wetlands that surround the perimeter of Bass Lake;
4. Communicate with Government and private agencies as required and communicate to and provide a forum for the Bass Lake property owners for interaction relating to all the above objectives.
